Dooars can be reached by taxi or bus as all major junctions are well connected by roads. You can take a bus from Siliguri at the PC Mittal bus stand and change over to another bus from Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminal, Siliguri.

Summer
Summer in Dooars begins in March and lasts till the end of June. The moderate temperature ranges between 21 -31 degree Celsius.
Monsoon
The monsoon starts in Dooars in July and lasts till the end of September. Dooars receives rainfall between 36 cm to 47 cm. The forest remains closed during the monsoon period.
Winter
Winters begin in Dooars from October and continue till February. The temperature at this period ranges from 23 Degrees Celsius to 10 Degrees Celsius.
Spread across the vast grassland with patches of riverine forests, the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at an elevation of 61m. The park is home to the one-horned rhinoceros, an animal once threatened with extinction. It is also one of the few places in India where the Bengal Florican is sighted. Apart from these, other animals also dwell in this wilderness.
Characterized by tropical deciduous forests, this park is in the Dooars Region of the Jalpaiguri district. More than three hundred species of birds can be detected at Gorumara National Park such as scarlet minivet, Indian hornbill, woodpeckers, peafowls, pheasants, endangered Brahminy Duck, and many more. A few species of poisonous snakes, like Paithon and King Cobra, can also be found here. This place is surrounded by green vistas to soothe your eyes.
Established in 1983, the Buxa Tiger Reserve is set up at the North- Eastern corner of West Bengal. Its name is derived from the historic Buxa Fort, sited amidst the dense forest. It's a must-visit tourist spot as it has an amazing collection of orchids and medicinal plants.
Also known as Chukchuki bird watching point, this place is ideal for ornithologists, photographers, and bird lovers. It is a bird’s paradise where local and migratory birds can be spotted. The tower is located towards the end of the park, from where you can get a perfect view.
